Growing up in the 70’s, Susan struggled with feeling “unpretty”. Her look didn’t fit in with the beauty standards of that era. Becoming a makeup artist allowed her to appreciate the unconventional and quirky forms of beauty. Susan’s decision to become a makeup artist for kids and teens evolved from her love for the ethereal. She is drawn to the beauty of simplicity and innocence. Susan’s artistic vision is inspired by minimalism. Kids should look like kids, not mini-adults. She uses make up to enhance, rather than transform their appearance. It is important for her make sure that each child feels like they have a unique beauty, and that they never feel self conscious about perceived flaws.
Susan has recently partnered with Beautycounter because she feels strongly about using clean makeup and skincare products that have high standards of safety.
