Susan’s decision to become a makeup artist for kids and teens evolved from her love for the ethereal. She is drawn to the beauty of simplicity and innocence.  Her idyllic vision for kids is dewy, glowing skin with flushed cheeks, which symbolize health and youth.  Before becoming a makeup artist, Susan was a registered dietitian and nutritionist.  Working with children has always come naturally to her and brings her joy.

Susan’s artistic vision is inspired by minimalism. Kids should look like kids, not mini-adults. Kids and teens often have specific issues, such as dry or sensitive skin, chapped lips, under-eye circles, and “boo boos” that need to be covered. Susan creates the appearance of good health and vitality, and she enhances their quirky beauty by making artistic choices. She might decide to leave pale or non-existent brows and lashes as is, intensify freckles, or create a sunburn effect. It is important for her make sure that each child feels like they have a unique beauty, and that they never feel self conscious about perceived flaws.
